The emphasis of hospice is comfort and palliative care, rather than curative treatment; the staff and volunteers of Serenity Hospice accomplish this through clinical and spiritual excellence.

Serenity Hospice is committed to ease the pain and manage symptoms that interfere with patient's comfort and quality of life. Hospice treats the person instead of the disease, focusing on the family instead of just the individual. In addition, the Serenity Hospice's emphasis is on the quality of life rather than its duration.

HOSPICE CARE
In establishing our commitment to patients and their families,Serenity
• Physician Visits - To develop a personal level of care our physicians visit patients in their home or home setting.
• Commitment to Care - From the moment the patient is deemed eligible for hospice, we guarantee a one hour response time.
• Lifestyle Services - Lifestyle Services ease the burden of daily activities on patients and families through in-home respite cleaning services and and errands.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio - We have consistently maintained a high nurse-to-patient ratio, as compared to the National Hospice average.
• Patient Care Visits - Through frequent patient care visits, our clinical team is able to manage symptoms, reduce crises, decrease burden on the family and ensure optimal care.
• Community Outreach - We support those in need through our Community Outreach program.
OUR COMMINTMENT:
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
We will serve everyone in our community who needs and seeks our care. Serenity provides care without regard to age, sex, race, color, religious belief, national origin, mental or physical disability or ability to pay.

WE STRIVE TO:
• Treat our patients and their families like our own family
• Acknowledge and support religious, ethnic and cultural
  diversity
• Affirm patient self-determination,empowerment and choice
REFERRALS
Recommendations can be made for hospice care by calling the central referral office at 404-266-8040. The patient, family members, a hospital discharge planner, the interdisciplinary team of a long-term care or assisted living facility or clergy can make the initial referral to the program.
Patients are admitted into the program based on their medical eligibility and their determination to receive hospice care, at which point the admission team commits to a one-hour response time in contacting the patient's family.
An Admission Coordinator is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
